Locker Room Champagne
What kind of Champagne do athletes spray all over each other during their locker room celebrations?
This week, after clinching a playoff spot, the Yankees popped J.Rogét, a sparkling wine owned by Constellation Brands. You can find it for as little as $4.99 online. (They also had plenty of Budweisers.)
Constellation markets this as an « American Champagne, » but they let you know right on the label that it’s actually sparkling wine because the secondary fermentation happens outside the bottle (Charmat Method) and it wasn’t made in Champagne.
Is this something you’ll want to sip on a Saturday Night to impress a hot date?
Probably not.
Is it more than likely what’s in your Mimosa when you’re out for bottomless brunch?
Yes.
Is it perfect for celebrating big wins at the end of baseball season, with the Wild Card and playoffs and World Series on the way?
💯
🍾 Chin!
Here’s to fall baseball…
