Years ago, legendary wine importer, Kermit Lynch, named the winemakers above the Gang of Four.

Here’s what you should know about them:

Gang of Four

Members: Breton, Foillard, Lapierre, Thévenet.
Location: Morgon, which is in Beaujolais, just south of Burgundy, in eastern central France.
Wine: Beaujolais, which is red wine made with Gamay grapes. It’s easy drinking and awesome in the spring and summer.
Occasion: While Lynch’s site puts these Luminaries of Morgon in its picnic collection, there are wines here for picnicking, grilling, dining, sipping, and everything in between.
