Simple, Perfect, Cheap

Simple, perfect, cheap.

How’s that for a ringing endorsement?

This La Valentina Montepulciano has all the qualities I love in a weekday red wine.

It’s cheap: $14.99 on wine.com.

It’s highly rated: 91 points from James Suckling.

It’s delicious: black cherry flavors, a touch of dry tobacco and sawdust, with fine tannins and a nice acidity… smooth, rustic, perfect alongside some homemade orecchiette pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe.

Sometimes the good things in life are that simple…and if we’re lucky enough, they’re cheap.

Chin!
